Dear Voters of the 23rd District,

Leslie and I want to extend our warmest appreciation for your confidence by re-electing me as your State Senator.  It has been an honor serving you these past four years and I look forward to continuing that work.

I know very well that there are many challenges ahead in formulating policies of state government that will keep us safe, educate our children and provide an economic climate that allows Missouri to prosper in to the future.  But these are services that you rightfully expect and it is what I intend to earnestly work toward.

Whether you voted for me or not, I want you to know that I welcome all of your ideas and thoughts on how to best shape these policies.  My opponent raised some issues that I believe are valid and I intend to look into these and consider the perspective offered.  In other words, I will continue to welcome all opinions and perspectives so that the best policies can move forward.

The bottom line for me has not changed since I first ran for office in 1992:  continue to strive to make our community the safest, most prosperous place for our children to grow up in and raise their families – just like it was when I was growing up here.

Change is inevitable and as we grow, managing that change is a greater and greater challenge.  However, I firmly believe that we have talent in abundance to lead us in that pursuit.

Leslie, Megan, Madelynn and I wish you and all of your loved ones the safest and happiest of holidays this year.  God Bless this state and God Bless America.
